The village of Virginia Water is located in north Surrey.

In the centre of the village are a small Budgens store, cafes and restaurants and local shops.

Around a mile and a half to the north west of the village is Virginia Water lake in Windsor Great Park, popular with walkers.

Also close to the village are Wentworth Golf Club and estate.

Virginia Water railway station is on the Reading to London Waterloo mainline and also on the branch line running south-east to Weybridge.

The M25 motorway can be accessed at junction 13 (Staines) via the A30, or at junction 11 (Chertsey) to the south. Junction 12 of the M25 is an interchange with the M3 (i.e. does not provide external access to the motorway).
