Horley
Horley is located in the south of Surrey on the border with West Sussex. The town is around 1 mile/1.5km north of Gatwick airport and has grown to serve the airport and commuters to London.
The town is centred around Victoria Road and the small pedestrianised High Street which adjoins it. The town centre includes a Waitrose supermarket and a Lidl store.
Outwood Common to the east of Horley is home to Outwood Post Mill (link), Britain's oldest working windmill, built in 1665.
The M23 motorway can be accessed to the south of the town. The M23 runs north to the M25 London orbital motorway/the A23 to London, and south to Crawley for the A23 to Brighton.
Horley train station is on the London-Brighton railway line for services to London Victoria and London Bridge, and also to Horsham and Tunbridge Wells.
