Dorking
Dorking is located between Guildford and Reigate on the A25. The town is just south of a gap (through which the River Mole flows) in the North Downs hills.
The town centre has a country feel to it and has a good mix of shops, including a number of antiques shops. Also in the centre are a Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Marks and Spencer stores.
The High Street is part of the A25, on the north side of which is St Martin's Church (clearly visible in the aerial photographs). Dorking Halls, a cinema and live entertainment complex, can be found in the town centre along with Dorking Sports Centre, which has sports halls, a fitness suite and a 25 metre swimming pool.
Clearly visible to the north of the town is Box Hill, from which there are views of the surrounding countryside. Denbies Vineyard is to the North-West of Dorking.
Three train stations serve the town: Dorking station for services to London Waterloo and London Victoria, and Dorking Deepdene and (less well-served) Dorking West, both of which are on the Reading/Guildford to Redhill line. The M25 motorway can be reached at Junction 9, around 5 miles north of the town.
