Bookham
Bookham, located south-west of Leatherhead, has retained a village feel despite having a larger population than Leatherhead.
The small High Street, which includes a range of traditional shops, leads to a cross-roads on which stands St Nicolas Church.
Also in the village centre is a medium-sized Somerfield supermarket and a library, whilst a short walk down Church Road is Old Barn Hall, a community hall which is home to many local clubs.
Polesden Lacey, a National Trust country house (see aerial photographs and history), is around a mile and a half (2km) south of Bookham on the North Downs.
Bookham railway station is around a mile north of the village centre on the edge of the village. There are rail services from Bookham to London Waterloo and London Bridge, and the M25 can be accessed at junction 9 (Leatherhead).
